The cottage weekend at Crane Lake - July 6-8

So we got an chance to go away for a few days with the girls to a cottage owned by a family friend. It was the girls first trip away from home and the first realy break for mom and dad. We had an awesome time!! Rain and Piper got top spend time with Nana and Opa and Ben and I got some much needed down time and rest, not to mention some home cooking, sun and swimming.

Here is our account of the trip with pictures to illustrate!

We arrived on Thursday about noon. First things first, we had to get the babies fed. They had been great in the car all the way up to the cottage but were ready to eat once we had arrived. Ben and I fed Rain and Piper and then Nana tok over while we helped unload the gear.

Then Ben and I took the girls for a tour of the cottage in the Snugli's before heading to the dock for some sun.

A photo of mom baby free!! It was SO nice being able to move about, go for naps and so on without having a baby in my arms.

Homecooked meals a la Nana! (YUM!) I haven't eaten that good...well...since I lived back home I guess.

An early morning for Opa and Piper. The girls were up at 6am and both mom and dad were pretty wiped. Opa stepped up to the plate and had some snuggling time with one on his grandaughters.
